There are many practical reasons to want to be in touch with the church — you might be planning a wedding, asking about a funeral or baptism, or simply wanting to speak to the Pastor. This page sets out the best ways to reach us at the moment, and what to expect.
Try our FAQs first
A great many common questions are already answered on our Frequently Asked Questions page — service times, what to wear, children, baptism, membership and more. If your question is one of the common ones, you will usually find a quicker, fuller answer there than by waiting for a reply from us.
What the church is here for
The church marks the major moments of life with those who turn to us — weddings, child dedications, funerals, believer’s baptism services, and the quieter pastoral matters that come up in between. These are not handled through a web form. They begin with a conversation, in person or by phone, with the Pastor or with a member of the Diaconate — very often after a Sunday service. From there a proper meeting can be arranged at a time that suits you. If you would like to read more about baptism before getting in touch, see our baptism page.
How to reach us
📍 Church office address
Harlesden Baptist Church
27–29 Acton Lane
Harlesden
London NW10 8UX
📞 Telephone
0208 965 7695 The phone is the most reliable way to reach the church for an urgent matter.
Most members of the church — including the members of the Diaconate — carry full-time jobs and family responsibilities outside the church. The office is not staffed in the way a larger organisation’s would be. The phone may not always be answered the moment you call; please leave a message if it is not, and someone will return your call when they are able.
If your matter is urgent and you cannot reach the office, the best alternative is to come in person to a Sunday service and speak to a steward or a member of the Diaconate — they will get word to the Pastor or the Secretary on your behalf.
The people you may be in touch with
Pastor Cornelius Mereweather-Thompson
Senior Pastor
Pastor Cornelius leads the worship, preaching and pastoral care of the church. He is best reached through the church office phone, or after a Sunday service. Pastoral conversations can be arranged in confidence.
Sister Sonia Mccathy
Church Secretary
Sister Sonia handles much of the church’s administration and is often the first point of contact for general enquiries, room bookings, and arranging meetings with the Pastor.
The phone and an in-person visit remain our two main ways of being in touch — both deeply rooted in how this church has worked for over a century. We may add an online enquiry form in time, with appropriate safeguards in place; until then, the phone is the route.
