Small Groups

Six house groups, each led by a member of the Diaconate. Smaller, midweek, in homes — the place to be known.

The Sunday service brings the whole church together. The house groups are where the church gets known. Smaller, more relaxed, meeting around a kitchen table or in a sitting room, they are the place to ask the question you did not want to ask on a Sunday, to be prayed for by name, and to be missed when you don't turn up. We currently have six house groups, each led by a member of the Diaconate.

Meeting times are set by each group. Because the members of every group have their own working hours, family commitments and travel patterns, each house group agrees its own meeting day, time and venue around what suits its members best. Some meet midweek in the evening and sometimes at the weekend inside the Church, or in a member's home, at prearranged times of the month. The leader of the group you join will let you know when and where the next meeting is.

What happens in a house group?

The shape of a meeting varies from group to group, but the ingredients are usually the same: a warm welcome, a passage of Scripture studied together, time to share what is happening in our lives, and prayer for one another. Some groups also share a meal; some have particular sub-ministries (visiting the sick, supporting new members, focusing on a specific area of need). All are open to visitors, and all welcome new members at any time of the year.

Joining a house group

If you would like to join one of the house groups — whether you are a long-standing member of the church or someone visiting for the first time — please speak to the leader of the group directly, or contact the Pastor or any member of the Diaconate and we will introduce you. You are also welcome to attend one or two meetings of different groups before deciding which is the best fit.

Find your group

House groups are open to all. There is no application, no fee, no minimum commitment — just a standing invitation to belong to a smaller circle within the church family.
