The Men’s Fellowship Barbecue is the highlight of the year for that group — long-running summer tradition [Leader — to confirm]

The Church Barbecue is one of HBC’s signature summer events — a relaxed outdoor gathering that brings the whole church family together, opens its doors to the wider community, and embodies the reputation the 125th Anniversary Booklet records: that HBC has become known as the place where food is served galore. The Men’s Fellowship chapter in 2015 describes their annual barbecue as “the highlight of our year… well attended.”

A young people’s barbecue was a feature of the church’s Centenary celebrations in 1990 (on Saturday 14 July 1990, paired with a Sunday School party). The tradition has continued in various forms across the years and remains a focal social-and-outreach event in HBC’s summer calendar — sometimes hosted by the Men’s Fellowship, sometimes by the whole church, and serving both members and the surrounding community.

The 2015 Anniversary Booklet treats the barbecue as an annual event coordinated within other groups rather than as a standalone team with its own roster. The current structure and leadership should be confirmed.
