Modern era — multimedia system installed during Pastor Cornelius’s ministry; live-streaming began December 2014 Leader of record (2015): Brother Chris Drakes [Current leader — to confirm]

The Multi-Media Team is one of HBC’s youngest and most technologically engaged ministries. As Brother Chris Drakes described it in the 2015 Anniversary Booklet, the team is a group of five to six administrators led by the team leader. The team play an effective role in the church services by displaying songs, scriptures, readings, and relevant notice information. We also conduct the video, sound and picture recording with our latest and up to date technology.

The team’s installation work is woven into the recent fabric of the church. The Anniversary Booklet records that the rewiring of the church, installing the multimedia system in the main sanctuary and installing screens downstairs cost quite a substantial sum of money. The large projection screen — which now displays songs, readings and notices alongside the still-active pipe organ that was first installed in 1896 — has transformed the visual life of the sanctuary.

In December 2014 the team took HBC online for the first time. As the booklet records: The Church went viral in December 2014. You could now watch our services from the comfort of your home every Sunday. Today the team’s reach extends to YouTube, Facebook, and the church website — Sunday worship, special services, and many of the church’s events are available live to anyone, anywhere in the world. The Multi-Media Team also captures the photographic record of church life: the 2015 Anniversary Booklet itself acknowledges Brother John Giwa for taking all the group photographs that added colour to this booklet.
