Some cool facts about Jonah's story: - Nineveh was a REAL city in what is today Iraq. It was huge - bigger than most modern cities. - Joppa, where Jonah caught his ship, is now the city of Jaffa in Israel. You can still go there today. - Tarshish (where Jonah was running to) was probably in modern-day Spain. That is the OPPOSITE direction from Nineveh - like running from London to Brazil instead of going to France next door. - Jesus Himself talked about Jonah. He said Jonah's three days inside the fish was a picture of His own death and coming back to life (Matthew 12:40).
