📖 The Boy Who Ran from God

God saw the city change. He decided not to destroy it. You would think Jonah would be HAPPY. He had just saved 120,000 people! But Jonah was ANGRY. He sat outside the city and sulked. "I knew this would happen!" he said. "I knew you were a kind and forgiving God. That is why I ran - I did not WANT them to be forgiven!" Jonah did not like the Ninevites. They were his enemies. He wanted them punished, not saved. God taught Jonah a lesson with a plant, a worm, and the hot sun. Then God said: "Should I not be concerned about that great city?" Lesson: God's heart is BIGGER than ours. He loves the people we find hard to love.
